Back yard 2012 Summer
Oh man, its been months and months since I posted. I love my laptop, I read everything possible, but post? I rarely do it. I just don't make time. It's been a busy summer here. First we had rains and rains for June and July and was so depressing. Along came late July and it has sunshined and continues right to the end of September.
My raspberries right now are blooming for a second time as its so warm. I have never seen this.
We decided - well actually me. To cover the pea gravel in the old section of our back yard under the swing set with dirt and hopefully get some grass happening. Well hubby has a contact that wanted to get rid of sod....he brought several loads home and we just flung it where it would fit to cover the pea gravel. Let me say, this stuff is amazing. It took immediately and I have cut the grass 3 times since August as it grows and grows and it needs a hair cut soon. So back to the swing set, we cut the arm off of it from the fort, which had a sandbox underneath. Bingo neighbour came over with noisy chain saw and helped. Thanks! Then we hauled all that to the dump. Then we took this free standing sad thing that used to have a slide on it...very rotten and zingggg its gone too, another trip to the dump. So the kids fort is left heck lets just get rid of it too...yes my new grass is being very trambled on doing all this....so we tied a rope and cut, sawed the fort and it came crashing down too.Another load to the dump and wow....we then cleaned up under the workshop and thre more crap away...(we sound like hoarders)? Not.... So it looks so different. We have or had the sandbox so we filled it in, and now a cute little garden shed is being built over top the sand box and we made it a tad bigger and its very high. Green metal roofing will be on it soon, and a really cute country style door is sitting waiting to be installed. One little window on the side and it will hold lots of tools, lawn mower and even some of hubbys fishing traps etc and probably our bikes too...quite the project considering and it continues....
